I admit right now and openly that I am huge Apple geek. For a time, there was nothing in the design world that got my heart racing more then the site of an iMac or Laptop in that great Apple White. And then of course there is the Beatle’s  “White” album. Well I can tell you that my sunburst guitars are gently weeping at the site of our Guitar of the Day, an exclusive to Guitar Adoptions, the Larrivee RS2 in Artic White.

Summer NAMM 2010 – Larrivee Electrics

New Colors in Electrics!

Larrivee has  added new colors to their electric line up: A Gold Top for the RS-2′s and Candy Apple Red for the RS-4′s. .

If you have not tried Larrivee’s electrics, you are missing an opportunity for very strong sales. These guitars are absolutely incredible! All electrics are made in Larrivee’s California plant. The RS-2 is $1695 retail and the RS-4 is $3198 retail.

The new electric additions will deliver late September.

Twas The Night Before Guitarmas…..

‘Twas the night before Guitartmas, when all through the house

I was surfing the internet, with my new Magic Mouse;

My Larrivee 000-50 was packed in its case with care,

In hopes that a Schertler David soon would be there;

My inner child not yet all snug in his bed,

Had visions of a G&L ASAT Classic in Candy Apple Red;

And mamma in her ‘kerchief, passed by with a snap,

“Another G&L ASAT?” she asked, “was 3 guitars not your cap?”

When down in the studio there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from my chair to see what was the matter.

Away to the music room I flew like a flash,

Tore open the doors to check on my stash.

The Amber off my Larrivee RS4 gave such a glow

I searched the room both high and  low,

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,

A shipping box adorned with a Guitar Adoptions logo, how did it get here?

A chuckle and a smile of delight I then gave,

I knew in a moment it must be St. Dave.

More rapid than eagles his inventory they came,

And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;

“Now, Larrivee! now, G&L! now, Flaxwood and Dillion!

On, Fishman! on Blackbird! on, Morgan and Giffin!

To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!

Now play away! play away! play away all!”

A bundle of guitars he had flung on his back,

And he looked like a rock star just opening his pack.

His guitars — how they twinkled! his amps how merry!

He could be an opener for Guns and Roses, or that Connick named Harry!

He carried a Larrivee P-09 all wrapped in a bow,

And a Larrivee RS4 in Artic white like snow;

Like Hendrix before him played a guitar with teeth,

And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;

He had a Blackbird Super OM with wide body belly,

That shook my feet, when he played it jelly.

He turned up the Reason Bambino Deluxe Combo, and it was heaven

For surely this was an amp that went to eleven;

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,

He handed over a Larrivee Rosewood Dread;

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,

And filled all the cases; then turned with a jerk,

And laying his finger aside of his nose,

And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,

And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.

But I heard him exclaim, before he was gone,

“Happy Christmas to all, and ROCK ON.”

Larrivee started building their first Parlor guitars on July 6th, of 1999. Today the Larrivee Parlor has become the parlor guitar by which all others are measured. Guitar of the Day – Larrivee 00-03 Limited!

Hold on tight kids, we have some news. Larrivee is readying a limited run of of 03 series 00 body guitars. In fact we are so excited about the news that we had to nominate it as our Guitar of the Day and it is not even out yet.

Information thus far:

  • Old style 00 Larrivee body;not a slot head
  • Herringbone rosette
  • Silver border on the headstock
  • Mother of Pearl Larrivee inlay on headstock

There are only going to be about 20 of these being built. Yeah that is right, 20. So it is time to limber up and make like a shopper on Black Friday and contact us for more information or grab the RSS feed and keep checking back with the blog for updates. As these should be available right around Turkey day.

When I was kid, if I was good, I got one special treat a month, my choice. Now as a child of the eighties, we had a lot of really cool toys that I could have cashed in on but I always was left wanting for just one thing. A root beer float at our local mom and pop diner. There was something magical to me about the taste and smell of root beer that it caused the angel on my shoulder to convince the devil on the other side to be cool and think of that float. Now many years later our Guitar of the Month has the devil in me ready to cast aside the angel, slam down a float and rock out. Our Guitar of the Month is the Larrivee RS4 in Rootbeerburst.
