Guitar of the Day – Sometimes You Feel Like a Nut…

And some times you don’t. But in the case of our Guitar of the Day, me thinks you are going to REALLY, REALLY feel like a nut, Walnut to be exact.

The Larrivee SD03 Walnut is one of only twelve built.

Walnut makes a great tone wood for a guitar. It’s dense like Maple but it’s usually more stable and Walnut grows slower so the grain will be tighter and the sound richer than Maple.

Summer NAMM 2010 – Larrivee Limited L02′s and D02′s

Limited Edition L02′s and D02′s

Larrivee is taking orders for the 02′s from now until the close of business on Monday, June 21. These guitars are just like the 03 series guitars but feature African Sapele back and sides and three piece necks. Retail is $1212 . A hard shell case is included in the price. Photos are attached to this message.

This is 20% cheaper than the 03 series guitars, which creates a great opportunity to add a high-quality, handmade, all solid wood guitar at an incredible price.

They have a few in stock now, but most will ship over the next two months. Pickups can be added at the standard pickup price.

Larrivee and Lacewood – Larrivee P-09 Lacewood Parlor Guitar

Not since Stevie Nicks and Don Henley came together for Leather and Lace, has their been such a pair…okay depending on your tastes that may be a stretch but for those that are rolling your eyes, search Youtube for Dave Grohl and Will Ferrell’s version, better?

Larrivee has brought together Spruce and a Master Grade Lacewood to present to you the Larrivee P-09 Lacewood Parlor Guitar.

The Lacewood used for the Larrivee P-09 Lacewood Parlor Guitar is a true multi-density wood. The outer shell is similar in density to Koa or Walnut, and the interior portions resemble Alder. It has been said the dual densities will combine different tones, while filtering others out. From a tonal standpoint, Lacewood is a very dense wood with loud sustaining tap tones. This translates into a guitar with excellent bass/midrange/treble balance, nice volume and great projection. The midrange exhibits a very vocal character– soothingly aural! The voice of this instrument will capture your Heart and keep you coming back for more. And the looks, well just take a look and see for yourself.

Twas The Night Before Guitarmas…..

‘Twas the night before Guitartmas, when all through the house

I was surfing the internet, with my new Magic Mouse;

My Larrivee 000-50 was packed in its case with care,

In hopes that a Schertler David soon would be there;

My inner child not yet all snug in his bed,

Had visions of a G&L ASAT Classic in Candy Apple Red;

And mamma in her ‘kerchief, passed by with a snap,

“Another G&L ASAT?” she asked, “was 3 guitars not your cap?”

When down in the studio there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from my chair to see what was the matter.

Away to the music room I flew like a flash,

Tore open the doors to check on my stash.

The Amber off my Larrivee RS4 gave such a glow

I searched the room both high and  low,

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,

A shipping box adorned with a Guitar Adoptions logo, how did it get here?

A chuckle and a smile of delight I then gave,

I knew in a moment it must be St. Dave.

More rapid than eagles his inventory they came,

And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;

“Now, Larrivee! now, G&L! now, Flaxwood and Dillion!

On, Fishman! on Blackbird! on, Morgan and Giffin!

To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!

Now play away! play away! play away all!”

A bundle of guitars he had flung on his back,

And he looked like a rock star just opening his pack.

His guitars — how they twinkled! his amps how merry!

He could be an opener for Guns and Roses, or that Connick named Harry!

He carried a Larrivee P-09 all wrapped in a bow,

And a Larrivee RS4 in Artic white like snow;

Like Hendrix before him played a guitar with teeth,

And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;

He had a Blackbird Super OM with wide body belly,

That shook my feet, when he played it jelly.

He turned up the Reason Bambino Deluxe Combo, and it was heaven

For surely this was an amp that went to eleven;

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,

He handed over a Larrivee Rosewood Dread;

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,

And filled all the cases; then turned with a jerk,

And laying his finger aside of his nose,

And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,

And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.

But I heard him exclaim, before he was gone,

“Happy Christmas to all, and ROCK ON.”
