Product: G&L Tribute S500 Premium Blueburst
: This is a great guitar for the money. I was in the market for a Strat-type guitar, but frankly wasn't turned on by the usual solid colors and typical sunburst available on the Fender. I had previously tried out a G&L that a friend had, and had been impressed with it. The blueburst finish sealed the deal -- it just looks great, especially with the ash body (frankly, I'd like it even better without the burst -- just transparent blue). I had originally planned on getting just the base Tribute model but it wasn't in stock with the maple fretboard I wanted. So I went up a step to the S500 and I don't regret it at all. The build quality is first-rate, the action is excellent, the maple neck feels wonderful, the pickups kick @$$ with good tonal variation. One thing I'm not sure of is why the website picture for this guitar shows a mini-switch by the middle control knob; my guitar does not have this, although the middle knob is a coil tap, so maybe they've just changed the control configuration a little.

Product: NEW Ultrasound AG-50DS4 Acoustic Amp
: I have used the (Ultrasound) 50 watt AG50 for more than 4 years. I've tried others but have never found an amp with the sound of this little unit. I use it everywhere and rarely have to daisy chain my AG30 on to add some power and spread. It is rugged and I love the light weight. I play Taylors (314 , Nylon & T5), Larrivee (LV10) , Maton (EGB808TE) and a Martin 12 string with good sound in all cases. Service dept. was great also.

: I have this same guitar (G&L S500), except in honeyburst. It is by far the nicest guitar I have EVER played, bar none. And this includes many high-end/ vintage Gibsons and Fenders. The tone and playability are absolutely first rate. I bought mine used and have completely fallen in love with it.
This may well be the finest, most versatile left-handed guitar made. You can make this guitar do anything. Just with the onboard controls, running straight into an amp with no effects, you can go from telecaster twang to screaming lead, all the way to metal. It's pretty amazing. It may not be the coolest looking guitar in the world, but that means nothing once you've played it.

Product: Pure Western for Steel String Guitars
: I installed the Pure Western Mini on my Larrivee L03 over a year ago...it still amazes me at how natural and full it sounds. I probably could have gone with the full-sized version and gotten slightly more level, but I haven't found that the PWM lacked anything in that dept. One comment I hear a lot is that these are a bit hot in the mids, which, from a certain perspective is true, however it just means that the response is very flat and will need to be eq'd accordingly...exactly what you want in an acoustic guitar PU...no coloration or artificial sounding compensation in the eq...just flat, true reproduction.

Product: Larrivee D-05 Acoustic Guitar
: I had already bought a Larrivee (L-09 Walnut) from Dave and was looking to expand my quiver. Talked to Dave about what I play, which guitars I own etc and Dave pointed me to the D-05. Received it yesterday. I will not discuss the appearance the pictures speak for themselves - I find Larrivee guitars to be beautiful, refined, elegant and understated.
What caught my attention first is the action on this guitar - flawless right out of the box. I changed the strings to 12 gauge Gibson Phosphor Bronze and went on to play for about 3 hours. The guitar is flawless, every fret top to bottom has clarity and sustain, the balance between bass and trebles is fantastic. The sound, whether strumming open chords or picking single notes is simply stunning. The price was unbelievable. Sticking with Larrivee until I find another brand coming even close to their quality/price ratio.

Product: NEW K&K Pure XLR Preamp
: I just purchased a Larrivee D-03 silverwood and it sounds so good, I wanted a pickup that would not color my tone in any way but faithfully reproduce my guitars acoustic sound so I chose the k&K pure western mini. Great pickup. hands down. In order to get the most out of your pickup or any pickup I would recommend the K&K pure xlr preamp very flexible but simple. Dave at Guitar Adoptions recommended it all along but I went ahead and bought a LR Baggs Para Acoustic DI. Don't get me wrong LR Baggs is great but when you are using a superior pickup like a k&K make sure and use the pure xlr preamp it sounds amazing. I have tried the LR Baggs Para DI and I was unhappy but now I am completely satisfied and amazed at the sounds that this preamp has coming out of it. From now on when it comes to acoustic pickups/preamps I am k&K all the way.

: I have owned this guitar for over 6 years now, and it is a favorite, just behind my '86 G&L Invader.
The fit and feel and finish is PERFECT!...Mine is Black with matching headstock and "mirror" pickguard!...IT is absolutely a work of art to look at!
The sounds I get from this baby are fantastic!
The Bigsby sometimes hits the 3-way selector switch, but that is player error and not design!
I really love this guitar, and recommend it to anybody that enjoys playing a great instrument!

: What a great O/D pedal.I play it with a Clark Beaufort w/reverb .The Gainster is a perfect match with a Tweed amp.The Gainster does not color the sound of your guitar or amp,it gives a very nice natural boost to your sound.Between the Clark amp & pedal ,the classic blues /rock sounds you can achieve are endless. After trying several O/D Pedals to include tube pedals,the Gainster is easily the best of the O/D Pedals I've tried.Clark Amplification products are outstanding!

: I love the sound of Larrivee's, and I prefer smaller body guitars. I had the chance to play a non-sunburst model, and I was in love. This is the perfect size for me, and it still manages to put out some serious sound! Plus, add the sunburst, and there is my dream guitar.
I'm currently in the process of selling my 2002 Taylor 910ce and 1978 Yamaha FG350w so I can pick one of these up. Those guitar are great guitars, but I just can't get comfortable playing dreadnoughts and western jumbos.

: I don't know why suddenly, Jim Dunlop is making recreations of these vintage pedals to spec-I'm talking about the '74 Vintage Phase 90, the new Hendrix pedals (Fuzz Face and Octavio) and others on the drawing board, but Thanks Very Much because these things are the answer to every musician's dream. The phase 90 nails the vintage unit's tone to a tee. Remember that electronic components age and that contributes to the sound, so these units sound like a phase 90 sounded in 1974. Unfortunately, I happen to remember that sound. There is absolutely no reason to spend stupid money on ancient units any more unless you are a collector and have money to burn. Awesome job. Also check out the new analog delay (Carbon Copy) which is an amazing analog pedal for 149. bucks.

: This plays as good or better than a high-end Gibson, Martin or Taylor. Like other reviewers have said, this guitar sounds as good as the higher end Larri's. And if you spend a little bit more time and money on upgrades like tuners, bridge pins, nut & saddle, there really isn't that much difference other than what woods are used. Tone and playability are perfect right out the gate. And on top of how great the guitar is, Dave is so great to deal with, he'll have the guitar in your hands before you know it. : This amp (Clark Beaufort with Reverb) is amazing.The tonal variations and nuances are incredible. After attempting to achieve this sound with other tube amps and pedals , I decided to purchase this amp based on Dave's recommendation. I was a little reluctant based on the price difference between the standard Beaufort and the Beaufort w/reverb, however I'm very glad I listened to Dave's suggestion. BUY THIS AMP W/ REVERB, IT IS OUTSTANDING. Not only does this amp sound great , the quality of construction and finish are perfect.
If you are looking for a classic blues/rock amp, look no further.
As always, Dave was very helpful in the process. His enthusiasm and knowledge are second to none.

: I was told about G&L and immediately went to Daves sight to investigate. The brand is not main stream as far as your usual guitar store although created by a pair of legends. As far as action and sound I would find it suprising to improve ones search for anything superior. 6 toggles create crystal clear tones. I would not hesitate to recommend just for the shear pleasure of playing. Heavier than a strat although well balanced. Cannot say enough! Nice to look at too!
