Hi Dave!
Thanks for making my recent guitar buy a satisfying experience! It's not always easy being a left-handed guitarist, and finding a lefty guitar has often been an unwelcome challenge for me, at best. So when I found myself in the market for a parlor guitar, I did a good bit of research … online at eBay, on Craigslist, in music stores and their Internet websites … and finally it came down to Guitar Adoptions and a Larrivée P-09. It wasn't just that Guitar Adoptions had the best price: The customer service was personable and informative, your follow-up was reliable, and your relationship with Larrivée made my purchase a snap. The P-09 arrived as promised and on time—I've been playing it a lot, and it's a gem. I have to start making notes for my next lefty acoustic (or maybe one of the Larrivée RS electrics) ... which maker, which woods, which inlays on the neck, which electronics … and come back to Guitar Adoptions when I'm ready! All the best! Michael Luther

Hey Dave- I just received the lefty Larrivee Bakersfield this afternoon. Wow. I am blown away by the quality of this guitar! The fit and finish is incredible for a guitar in this price range. The pickups and hardware are top shelf, the feel of the neck is perfect, and it is very light and resonant. It plays like a dream and sounds great. This is the best T-style guiar I've ever owned, hands down. Thanks for the great deal and fantastic service. Best wishes.

I purchased a G&L ASAT Classic Custom in Himalayan Blue guitar from David last Friday and Tues it was in my hands. Killer guitar built like a guitar should be-like a tank. I love the high quality pics on the site and the service is outstanding. I called with a few questions and then ordered the guitar while on the phone. 10 MIN later the guitar sale was processed and it was shipped that day. I love the selection of high quality guitars -especially the G&L models in colors you dont many other places. Thanks again -my wife has named our new guitar 'Baby' -i look forward to my next guitar adoption.

Dave, I got the amp on Thursday, and am very pleased with the complete experience! The amp is fabulous, by the way. I sincerely appreciate you going the extra mile to make this sweet deal. Our world today doesn't see many businesses doing things the old fashioned way(ie-complete customer satisfaction). It's usually take it or leave it. I will look to you in the future as needs arise, and tell my fellow musicians of my pleasent shopping experience with you.
Hope you have a great holiday season.
Best Regards,
Jeff Chapman

Hi Dave,
I just wanted to let you know that my custom built cherry burst quilt top G & L Legacy arrived on time.
The quilt top and the Birdseye maple neck are gorgeous and were well worth the wait. The guitar plays and sounds wonderful, the frets are well dressed, the action is low ( ~ 2 mm.. 14th fret) with no fret buzz and the intonation is right on. The sustain is good for this type of guitar ( ~ 30 secs. low E string ). the fit and finish are flawless. Additionally the upgraded case is well made and worth having. Based on the variability of web based images I was a little concerned about the cherry burst finish I am happy to report that I am pleased with it.
The sales experience with you went very smoothly and I would purchase from you again.
Thanks for everything. I look forward to many years of enjoyment playing this fine instrument.
Regards,
Glenn Kessler

Dave,
I have been playing guitar for 45 years, and over that time period I have either owned, or had access to amplifiers manufactured by over a dozen major amplifier companies. Recently I found myself getting unhappy with my amp and started searching for something new outside of the mainstream amp market. I checked out a lot of different amplifiers, but kept returning to Reason Amplifiers because of the fantastic tones I was hearing on the demos of the Reason Amplifier line. I decided to order a Reason Grande and needed to find a dealer, and that search lead me to Guitar Adoptions.
Reason Amplifiers may be the best kept secret in the world of guitar amps. I was looking for an amp that I could record with and get great clean and distorted tones. It does that! It took awhile to get the footswitch for the amp as they were changing from an outside manufacturer to building them in house, but when I did get it, I found out I can use the amp as a three channel system for live performances. It works great for live gigs as well! The amp is fantastic! It covers all of my needs as a guitarist. I am very happy with and very pleased with the Reason Grande!
When I contacted Guitar Adoptions to order the amp, I was pleased to get to speak with you personally and get my questions answered. I appreciate your service, pricing, and product knowledge. It was great doing business with you.
Sincerely,
Homer Roach

Dave:
Received the Larravee 00-03 on the evening of the January 13, and took it out of the box the next day and played it on Jan 14. Everything came through beautifully and the sound, feel and tone exceeded my expectations. I am completely satisfied with my purchase and this guitar feel and tone falls between my Larravee P-09 Lacewood and the OM-03 that I use especially here in Texas during the summer months. The 00-03 is a nice size and very light weight and has volume and overtones one would not expect from a guitar this size.
I have been playing for about 45 years and have everything from a couple of Morgan Concerts David made for me in the mid 90's, a Couple of David Webber guitars ( a Roundbody and a Mini-Jumbo) and Taylor GC's of various woods and tones, along with a 714 Cedar.Koa. I play primarily in an open mike band and do a lot of Bluegrass, Texas swing along with folk music. They all have different sounds and all of my guitars have a primary purpose according to the music. This 00-03 will fit quite well in the finger picking area and small group playing. I usually do not purchase guitars without playing and feeling whether they will "Fit" my playing but in this case, your company came through with aces and I feel that with my next purchase, you will be considered someone that I will want to do business with.
Thank you again for having a good selection, price and quality in both the instruments and the company.
Sincerely,
Rick Stone

I’ve been playing guitar a long time, and over the years I’ve bought and sold more guitars, amps, and accessories than I can remember. However, a few select pieces will stay with me for the rest of my life and my Northwood ZIR80-OMV is one of them. This is a luthier-built guitar, not a production guitar. Northwood guitars are hand made by John McQuarrie and his small staff in British Columbia. They are somewhat hard to find, new or used, and usually sell out quickly. I feel fortunate to have been able to acquire this one.
Being primarily a fingerstyle player, I was intrigued by the Ziricote/Redwood combination. I have another OM in Rosewood/Adirondack spruce. While it sounds great, I find I lack the power to drive the Adirondack top to its full potential when playing fingerstyle. Redwood, a relative of cedar, takes less power to bring out the guitar’s subtle nuances and overtones. Another advantage of redwood is that it “opens up” much faster than spruce does. Aesthetically, I think the redwood top is beautiful. It has a more defined grain pattern than cedar and I love the color. The Ziricote back and sides have a fantastic grain pattern. Check out the pictures of this guitar on Dave’s website and you’ll see what I mean. Tonally, I think that Ziricote is similar to rosewood.
I feel that my ZIR80-OMV is an ideal fingerstyle guitar. The build quality and attention to detail is excellent. I haven’t flatpicked it, nor do I intend to, but I would say that if vigorous flatpicking is your game then a spruce top might be a better choice. This is the fifth guitar I’ve purchased from Guitar Adoptions (I still have them all), and as always Dave was happy to discuss the details of the guitar with me before I decided to buy it. If you are looking for a top quality, luthier built instrument, then you really should check out Northwood Guitars. Read the reviews, visit the acoustic guitar discussion boards, and then contact Guitar Adoptions to get your own Northwood guitar.

I spent weeks surfing the web and exploring local music stores seeking a new Larrivee L-09E. Eventually, I stumbled across the Guitar Adoptions website, and discovered the most competitive pricing for all Larrivee models. Despite my original intent to buy from a local distributor so as to help support the local economy, I couldn't justify spending four hundred extra dollars to do so! Being new to both internet and guitar shopping, and reluctant to just dive right in to this unfamiliar territory, I picked up the phone, hoping to learn everything I could about the process, and eliminate the uncertainty I felt about conducting this fairly large transaction over the internet. As expected, my call was answered by a machine, and though I left a message, I really didn't anticipate a speedy or informative response. To my surprise, the owner personally returned my call within an hour, and answered my numerous questions patiently and thoroughly, leaving me no option but to buy my guitar from his company. His personal dedication to customer service is exactly what I expect when I deal with suppliers, because it is what I provide when dealing with my own customers. Sadly, it is becoming harder and harder to find such a commitment to service, so when I do discover companies that employ this approach, I feel an obligation to share my good impressions with other consumers. His commitment to honoring the first price he quoted me, even though he'd experienced across the board increases to the Larrivee line between our first conversation and the day that I actually called to order my guitar, convinced me that Dave Schmidt is an honorable individual, and runs an honorable business. This impression was further verified by the fact that the guitar arrived on the date promised, was exactly what I ordered, and wound up costing less than most of the used Larrivees I considered buying from some of the offerings on eBay.
If you're like me, you'll shop long and hard before casually tossing your hard-earned money to just any supplier. You'll want to make a point of exploring all the options available before "pulling the trigger" on such an expenditure. I strongly encourage you to do so! But do make a point of checking out Guitar Adoptions before you make up your mind - you'll probably make the same choice I did, and you won't regret it!
